Consent Request: During registration or intake, patients are informed that they may receive automated SMS messages related to their surgical care, including appointment reminders, pre-operative instructions, post-operative updates, and care notifications.                                                                                                                                                                                                                  
    3. Explicit Consent: Patients must provide explicit consent by entering their phone number and checking an SMS consent checkbox before submitting the form.                                                                                                                                                          Example consent language displayed on the form:                                                                                                                                              “I agree to receive recurring automated SMS messages from Periop Ortho regarding appointment reminders, surgical preparation instructions, and post-operative care updates. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance.”                                                                                                                                                                 
    4. Double Confirmation: After submitting the form, patients receive an SMS asking them to reply YES to confirm their subscription before receiving further messages.                                                                                                                                                   
    5. Opt-Out Instructions: Patients can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any SMS message. They may also reply HELP to receive assistance.                                                                                                                                                                                                       
    6. Privacy Policy: All messages include a link to our Privacy Policy explaining how user data is collected and used.
